CHANGES ON THE HORIZON AT SANOS PORT - BRAZIL

Aug. 31, 2010 - Suddath has been updated regarding changes on household goods' shipments entering Santos Port in Brazil. Customs is advising of some upcoming alterations in procedures at the port. The first, of more to be issued, is the request for detailed descriptions on inventory in order to avoid delays.

Listed below are a few examples of detailed inventories:

  • CHINA : Use descriptors such as plates, cups, glasses, bowls, crystal glasses, etc.

  • STATIONERY: Use descriptors such as notepads, pen, pencil, stapler, documents, etc.

  • TOOLS: Use descriptors such as screwdriver, hammer, drill, screws, nails, etc.

  • KITCHENWARE : Use descriptors such as cutlery, plastic, pots, bowls and trays, can opener, boards, ice bucket, jars, condiment tray, etc.

  • COSMETICS /BATH MATERIAL: Use descriptors such as bath rug, towels, soap, perfumes, toilet paper, make-up, scale, shampoo, hair brush, etc.

  • LAUNDRY ARTICLES: Use descriptors such as broom, bucket, baskets, mop, etc.
